Lions sink Pirates, 1-0
ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- Rocky River was defeated by Orange in non-conference action under the lights, as the Pirates closed out their regular season with a 1-0 loss on Saturday.
In a hard-fought contest at Rocky River Stadium, the Maroon & White were dealt a shutout loss for the first time since Sept. 2 (1-0, Buckeye). With the Saturday-night setback, Rocky River closed out its regular season with a 9-6 record.

ON DECK: The Pirates will now head into postseason play: the Maroon & White are scheduled to host a DII Northeast District Tournament match on Tuesday (Akron Coventry, 6 p.m.). The winner of the Rocky River-Coventry match is slated to travel to Benedictine to take on the Bengals on Saturday.
YOUNG BUCS: The junior varsity Pirates closed out their 2020 campaign with a 3-0 loss to Orange. River went 3-6-4 over 13 matches this fall.
