BAY VILLAGE, Ohio -- Possession skills and sharp defense propelled Rocky River to a second straight shutout win and the team's fifth such victory of the season, as the fourth-ranked (DII, Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association) Pirates blanked the Bay Rockets, 2-0, on Monday night.

Rocky River (5-0-2, 3-0-1 Great Lakes Conference) got a first-half goal from Cara McKenna and a second-half score from Ava Patti, as the Maroon & White remained unbeaten on the 2020 season. Addie Harris assisted on McKenna's goal. Patti's goal marked her team-leading fifth of the season.

Monday's triumph marked just River's second over Bay since 2013. From 2014-29, the Rockets went 5-1-2 against the Pirates.

Rocky River's 5-0-2 start to the 2020 campaign marks the program's best seven-game start to a season since 2013 (6-0-1).
