MASSILLON, Ohio -- The Rocky River Pirates dropped a 4-1 decision at Jackson on Thursday.
Sophomore Samantha Robertson earned a 6-2, 6-0, win in first singles to spell River's lone conquest. Robertson is now 12-1 on the season.
The non-conference loss dropped the Maroon & White to 5-8 on the season.
The Pirate junior varsity squad also competed at Jackson. The JV lost, 4-1, but their match was highlighted by an impressive Anna Kunde win in first singles. Kunde prevailed, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0.
