Racket Raiders roust Fairview

RR Girls' Tennis

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- Girls' Tennis returned to action on Monday evening, and the Rocky River Pirates were sharp in their 2020 opener, defeating Fairview, 4-1.

Rocky River clocked a pair of wins in singles play and swept doubles, as the Pirates (1-0) turned aside their neighbors to the south. Samantha Robertson and Becca Krebs earned victories in singles. Both were of the straight-sets variety; Robertson swept Fairview's Samantha Mei, 6-0, 6-0.

River also earned a sixty-sixty in second doubles, with the duo of Scout Hahn and Hannah Burgess earning the point for the Double-R. Maire Kate Hickey and Caitlyn Kelly were victorious in first doubles.

The Warriors' lone point was earned by Noemi Andrede in third singles.

Monday's match was played at Tri-City Park, and it marked the front end of a trio of matches in as many days. That stretch is slated to continue with the Pirates hosting Hoover on Tuesday.
