ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- The Rocky River Pirates defeated the Elyria Catholic Panthers, 5-0, on Wednesday.

River swept its way through the three singles, with Samantha Robertson (2-1), Becca Krebs (2-1), and Mya Antonetti (1-2) earning dominant wins. Antonetti's victory -- by a score of 6-4, 6-2 -- marked the first of her career. The match was a Great Lakes Conference affair; the defending-GLC-champion Maroon & White are 2-0 in circuit play. They've won both matches by 5-0 scores.

The Pirates (2-1, 2-0) garnered doubles wins -- both in 6-0, 6-0 fashion -- from the duos of Caitlyn Kelly-Maire Kate Hickey and Scout Hahn-Hannah Burgess.

River's next match is slated for Monday, when the Pirates travel to Brecksville for a nonconference tilt against the Bees.
