Bengals bust bracket for River

CLEVELAND -- Rocky River's 2020 season came to an end Saturday, as the Pirates lost to Benedictine, 4-2, in DII Northeast District Tournament action.

Senior Chase DeClerck scored both goals for Rocky River (10-7), finishing on a cross from Nate Keeling in the 16th minute and netting a goal on a direct free kick in the 50th. The host Bengals landed a flurry of scores late in the first half (30th, 34th, 40th minutes) in defeating the Pirates for a second time in the last month (3-1 on Sept. 26).

Chase DeClerck finished his Rocky River career with 27 goals. DeClerck, Keeling and fellow seniors Chris Fry, Connor McKenna, and Michael Triplett closed out their careers in the hard-fought game at Benedictine.
