RRHS Drama Department Presents Bye Bye Birdie as Spring Musical

February 26, 2024

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The award-winning Rocky River High School Drama Department presents Bye Bye Birdie as this year’s spring musical with performances in the high school auditorium at 7:00pm on April 18, 19, 20. The cast and crew have been busy with rehearsals, costumes and building the set for several months.

Tickets for all three performances are available on the district’s Home Town Ticketing website

Bye Bye Birdie is the story of Conrad Birdie, an American rock 'n roll sensation, who has been drafted into the army. His manager, Albert Peterson, and his secretary, Rosie Alvarez, hatch a plan to keep their careers afloat by having Conrad perform one last song on The Ed Sullivan Show before he leaves for the army. The song, "One Last Kiss," is to be performed for one lucky fan, chosen at random. The lucky fan is Kim MacAfee, a teenage girl who is ecstatic to have the opportunity to meet her idol. However, her boyfriend Hugo Peabody is less than thrilled about the situation. As the town prepares for Conrad's arrival, chaos ensues.

Expect an evening brimming with love, heartbreak, screaming, crying, cheering and more screaming!
