AVON, Ohio (Sept. 7, 2023) -- Rocky River notched a split in a Great Lakes Conference tri-match hosted by Westlake High School Thursday. The Pirates carded a 150 on the outward nine on the Legacy course at Sweetbrier Golf Glub. The figure was edged by Westlake (147) while beating North Olmsted (185).

The Pirates (7-1, 7-1 GLC) got a career-best nine from senior Dan Capka, who had two birdies and two bogies in a level-par 36 on the 2,918-yard course. Capka, who owns a fine 81.1 average since Aug. 9, hit eight greens in the match.

Teammate Luke Dietrich also fired a 36. His round was highlighted by back-to-back birdies on Nos. 7-8. Nick Tianello was one back at 37. Jack Hurt and Caden Lawrence both carded 41s.

The Swinging Corsairs have now filed 148-148-150 as their last three match scores.
