Bucs clobber Cards 23-0

MENTOR, Ohio (March 28, 2023) -- Rocky River bounced back from a Thursday loss by throttling the Mentor Cardinals 23-0 Tuesday.

The Pirates outshot their hosts 56-4 and 11 different players scored for the Maroon & White. River scored eight goals in the first quarter, five in the second, six in the third, and fourt in the fourth.

Senior midfielder Mack Massad piled up nine points for the Pirates. Massad filed five goals and four assists while going 14-1 on 15 faceoffs. The offensive explosion for a squad that lost to Stringsville 6-5 Thursday also included multiple goals for Wes Bennett, Ryan Hilderbrand, Andrew Lang, and Matthew Malloy. Two players -- J.P. Corrigan and Cameron Ries -- notched career-first goals in the Northern Ohio Lacrosse League contest.

Rocky River (3-1, 2-1 NOLL) upped its all-time mark against Mentor to 6-0.

The Pirates are scheduled to battle Strongsville in a NOLL road game Thursday.
