AVON LAKE, Ohio (April 4, 2023) -- The Striped Buccaneers netted a single-game season-high in goals as they downed the Avon Lake Shoregals 20-9 Tuesday.

Rocky River bolted to a 14-4 lead by halftime, and overall nine different Pirates found twine in the Northern Ohio Lacrosse League triumph. Senior Olivia Konopka filed a nine-point game, finishing just one point shy of River's single-game program record (Lauren Cain--10 points on nine goals and one assist, May 11, 2019). Konopka had five goals and four assists.

Also registering multiple points Tuesday were Kaitlyn Byrne (3G, 2A), Alexis Tisler (4G), Mackenzie Russell (3A), and Grace DeWitt (3G). Byrne's second point in the game marked the 100th of her career. Russell added four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Annika Mocho carded four scoops and four spills.

The Pirates (6-1, 4-1 NOLL) have now scored 16 goals or more in five of their last six games. Rocky River is slated to take on Hathaway Brown in its next game (April 15).
