Bay beats River 16-8

RR Softball

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (April 18, 2023) -- Rocky River returned to Great Lakes Conference West Division play Tuesday. In a cold battle at the Corner of Northview & 90, the Pirates were dealt a 16-8 setback by the Bay Rockets.

Maroon & White pitching was undone by 15 walks, but the Pirates did show some resolve in pushing back after falling behind 14-0 through the first three innings of play. Rocky River (4-4, 1-2 GLC West) scored runs in each of the last four innings of action (fourth-seventh). Offensively, the Buccaneers were paced by Juliana Benjamin (2-for-3, home run, walk, three RBIs) and Rylie Quaiser (2-for-2, walk, hit by pitch, stolen base). Benjamin's home run marked River's first of the season.

Quaiser has low registered three straight multi-hit games.

The Pirates are scheduled to host North Olmsted Wednesday at 5 p.m.
