ELYRIA, Ohio (May 4, 2023) -- After six days off -- a partially rain-induced hiatus -- Rocky River returned to the diamond Thursday at Elyria Catholic. The Pirates were swept by the Panthers 9-0 and 15-3.

Strong EC pitching held River to just five hits over the twin losses. Juliana Benjamin was responsible for 40% of that output, Benjamin went a combined 2-for-4 with a double in the five- and called-on-account-of-darkness four-inning Great Lakes Conference affairs. She had a hit in each game and has now hit safely in five straight.

Pirate pitching was undone by 12 walks. The Panthers' Hannah Brooks went 5-for-6 with a double, a triple, a home run and nine RBIs.
