LORAIN, Ohio (May 10, 2023) -- Rocky River clocked an 18-5 win over Lorain in Wednesday non-conference action.

The Pirates outhit the Titans 9-6 and took advantage of 13 walks and a half-dozen Lorain errors. River's 18 runs marked the team's third-most in a single game this season.

Rylie Quaiser and Ava Mae DeMooy split the circle work in a five-inning run-rule contest. DeMooy went three frames, not allowing a hit or walk; she fanned three.

Lillian Sereika (2-for-2, two walks, two runs batted in) and Leigh Konet (2-for-3, 2 RBI) each had multiple hits for the Double-R.

Rocky River (8-11) will host a district tournament game Thursday. The Pirates -- the No. 17 seed in the DII Northeast 5 District -- will host No. 23 Fairview in a 5 p.m. tilt at Pirate Field.
