Double-R KO'd by Rangers 9-0

RR Softball

LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- Lakewood's Mia Carroll-Greeves fanned 17 in a four-hit shutout, as the Rangers defeated the Pirates 9-0 Thursday.

Carroll-Greeves struck out the side in the game's first three innings. She would go on to allow just four hits and four walks. None of those base runners would dent the plate with the Pirates going 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position.

Lakewood scored three runs in three separate innings -- the first, second, and fifth. Along the way, the Rangers got two hits from Carroll-Greeves, who helped her own cause with three runs batted in. For the game, Lakewood out-hit Rocky River 11-4.

The Pirates (3-4) committed two errors and allowed a pair of unearned runs, Colleen Meese went the full six innings for River in the circle.

Tess Aulisio registered a pair of hits for Rocky River. Juliana Benjamin and Emily Satayathum had doubles.

With Thursday's setback, the Pirates have dropped three straight. The Double-R is slated to host a non-conference doubleheader against Magnificat Saturday.
