HARTVILLE, Ohio (Aug. 29, 2022) -- Rocky River placed ninth in Monday's Lake Tournament hosted by Uniontown Lake High School.
The Pirates posted a four-man team score of 345 on a challenging 6,626-yard, par-71 Congress Lake Club. Rocky River was led Nick Tianello (41-41--82) and Luke Dietrich (45-39--84) in placing ninth in a field of 22 teams.
Double-R birdies were carded by Tianello (407-yard, par-4 first), Dan Capka (375-yard, par-4 17th), Owen Toole (490-yard, par-5 third), and Wes Bennett (two: 518-yard, par-5 13th; 383-yard, par-4 15th).
The round included a rain delay.
The Pirates (top-4) hit 34-of-56 (60.7%) fairways and 27-of-72 greens (37.5%); they averaged 36.3 putts per man.
River's Men of Swing are slated to return to action Wednesday with a Great Lakes Conference home match (Big Met Golf Course) against Fairview and North Olmsted.
