OBERLIN, Ohio – Rocky River earned a third-place finish in the St. Joseph Academy Invitational, held at Oberlin College on Saturday.

Freshman Samantha Robertson registered an impressive performance in garnering the most points for the Pirates. Robertson eked out a 7-5, 5-7, 1-0 (9) victory over Solon’s Maggie Yang in her first match. She went on to win more before being ousted, 6-0, 6-1, in the finals of the first singles division.

River went 1-2 in second (Avery Conzelmann) and third singles (Ryan Henricks) and in first (Caitlyn Kelly/Carmen Rhinehalt) and second doubles (Maggie Blossey/Maire Kate Hickey). The Pirates earned 27-1/2 points in the tournament’s scoring system.
