More than 15,000 school bus drivers across the state transport over 800,000 students safely to and from school and school-related events throughout the year. In 2001, the Ohio General Assembly designated the first Monday in May as School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. This year the date is May 1. The day offers an opportunity for school districts and communities to recognize the outstanding job performance of their school bus drivers and the staff members who support them. We thank these dedicated individuals for their efforts to keep Ohio’s children safe.
