Having just completed my second year serving as President of Rocky River Student Activities Boosters, I can take a moment to look back upon the school year. For my wife Lori and me, it was a very special year, as we saw our son Jack graduate from Rocky River High School, college-bound and ready for the next phase of his life.
 
The college preparation experience has reinforced the belief that I’ve always held about our schools...that our teachers, administrators and staff are providing a first-class education for our sons and daughters, and are indeed preparing them for the next phase of their lives.
 
I am not alone in this belief. Our team of volunteers are absolutely committed to helping our schools maintain the level of excellence we’ve come to expect.
 
We are very proud of the fact that Rocky River Student Activities Boosters donated $85,000 to our Rocky River schools in 2017, a 5% increase from last year. This annual donation to the school board supplements the student activities budget at the High School and entirely funds all Middle School activities.
 
Additionally, this was the first year that Rocky River Student Activities Boosters offered two scholarships to qualified students. As college tuitions continue to rise, we are grateful that we were able to offer these scholarships.
 
None of this would be possible without our dedicated volunteers who head up the Concessions, Membership and Spirit Wear Committees. I want to thank each and every one of them for their unwavering commitment to our mission.
 
I am often asked by parents how they can help. It’s easy. Become a member and volunteer your time! Fact is, we need your help. We are looking for help with concessions and corporate sponsorship efforts.
