MEDINA, Ohio -- The Pirates came up on the short end of a 3-0 score in a tough Great Lakes Conference road match at Buckeye on Saturday.

The host Bucks prevailed, 25-15, 25-14, 25-19, defeating Rocky River for a first time since the two schools became GLC foes in 2019.

Austoria Miller (12 kills, .266 attack percentage), Paige Waite (eight kills), and Emma Liszeski (16 digs) logged notable performances for the Pirates (3-4, 3-4 GLC), who have now lost two in a row. River hit .087 for the match, and a strong Buckeye squad was sharp in keeping the Pirates on the defensive.
