ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- The Rocky River Pirates were blanked by a talented Hoover Vikings squad on Tuesday. Hoover swept the proceedings at Tri-City Park, 5-0.

Samantha Robertson (1-1) and Becca Krebs (1-1) gave game efforts in their contests at first and second singles, respectively. But the Pirates (1-1) were swept, 6-0, 6-0, in three of their five matches. Robertson was bested by Hoover freshman Tess Brucher, 6-1, 6-3, in a taut, baseline-to-baseline tussle which featured gritty points on both sides.

The Racket Raiders are scheduled to host Elyria Catholic on Wednesday.
