STRONGSVILLE, Ohio -- Sophomore runners Samantha Coleman and
Ella Russell paced Rocky River Girls' Cross Country in a 12th-place finish at
the Strongsville Invitational on Saturday. [results]
Coleman clocked in with a ninth-place 19:49.02 and was
River's top finisher in a race that saw the Pirates score 284 points. That
total slotted Rocky River 12th in a field of 19 teams.
Russell earned a top-50 time (47th) by crossing the wire in
21:20.59.
River's other scoring runners were juniors Alison Ritvo
(55th) and Marcella Pfaff (69th) and senior Alex Harris (104th).
Hudson (103 points) won the event, followed by Olentangy
Liberty (134) and Perrysburg (137). Individually, the field included 152 athletes.
