Boys, girls both finish 6-0 in GLC meets

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- Rocky River competed in two dual events in the days leading up to the 2020 Great Lakes Conference Championships, to be held Saturday at Oberlin College.

On Wednesday, River hosted St. Ignatius on the boys' side and Magnificat on the girls'. The Wildcats beats the Pirates, 112-73, in the boys' competition. The Pirates prevailed over the Blue Streaks, 120-63, on the girls' side. Anna Skapoulas paced the River effort with a 16-point night. Skapoulas was part of two winning relays and won the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard freestyle races.

On Thursday, the Pirates swept Normandy in road duals in Parma. With the twin wins, the River boys and girls both finished with 6-0 records in GLC action. [scores and results unavailable at time of publication]

The Double-R heads into Saturday looking for a double-sided five-peat in the league's boys' and girls' title events.
