Science Olympiad Teams Compete at State Tournament

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Rocky River High School and Rocky River Middle School Science Olympiad teams competed at the Ohio Science Olympiad State Tournament over the weekend at Ohio State University.
 
The RRHS team placed 18th overall among the 40 schools who competed in Division C. The team had several top finishes, including third place in Air Trajectory and Write It-Do It, sixth place in Flight and ninth place in Chemistry Lab.
 
At the middle school Division B level, RRMS finished 30th among the 40 teams. The squad posted a third place finish in Write It-Do It and a ninth place showing in Anatomy and Physiology.

In a Science Olympiad meet, teams of 15 people compete in 24 events that are judged individually. Teams are then scored as a whole. The Science Olympiad teams spent September through January preparing for the events leading up to the regional and state competitions.
