ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Each month during the 2023-2024 school year, the Rocky River City School District will highlight a member of the senior class who is in the West Shore Career Technical District program to showcase pathways and possible careers.
For the month of November, we are featuring Lucy Douglas, who is in the Sports & Exercise Science program.
Lucy chose to attend West Shore to take classes that made her excited about learning. At West Shore, she has had the opportunity to take classes like Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology. These classes relate to the career Lucy intends to pursue in college. She notes that being at two schools is a really great way to make more connections with different people.
Lucy highly recommends that students explore the opportunities available at West Shore as you can receive many useful certifications in Sports & Exercise Science, such as your National Academy of Sports Medicine personal trainer’s license.
At West Shore, Lucy enjoys being with students who have similar interests. She also enjoys doing hands-on labs and work-based learning, which allows her to apply things learned in the classroom to everyday life.
After high school, Lucy is planning to attend college and become a Doctor of Occupational Therapy.
