PARMA, Ohio (Sept. 9, 2023) -- Rocky River had a three-game win streak snapped in a hard-fought 2-1 battle at Padua Saturday.
The Pirates scored on an early penalty kick from Zach Kern. The host Bruins were frustrated early by River goalkeeper Gio Lizzini, who finished with seven saves, but Padua did come back with a pair of second-half goals to earn the win in the non-conference match.
Kern's goal marked his third of the season.
Rocky River (6-3) is slated to return to action Sept. 16 at Lexington.
