ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Rocky River High School (RRHS) student Shea Alexander received a first place award and Yasmin Mayich earned an honorable mention award for their artwork in the 78th Annual Rotary Club of Lakewood/Rocky River Speech, Music and Visual Art Contest. Award winners will be honored and recognized at an Awards Ceremony on April 17 in Beck Center’s Senney Theater.
Nearly 150 pieces were submitted to the competition and 75 are being displayed, including 15 works from RRHS students.
Alexander, Carlecia Harrington, Shyqyri Bako, Olivia Butcher, Ava Calamante, Will Gecsi, Emma Ionescu, Sophia Loparo, Mayich, Blair Pichola, Zoe Satayathum, Audrey Slankard, Sean Smith and Max Stahl all had works included in the exhibition.
The annual contest features the talents of students from high schools in Lakewood and Rocky River, including Lakewood High School, Lutheran West High School, Magnificat High School, Padre Pio, Rocky River High School and St. Edward High School.
