CLEVELAND (Feb. 11, 2023) -- Rocky River won for a second time in as many days as the Buccaneers bludgeoned the Kennedy Eagles 75-37 Saturday.

Scoring their most points since Feb. 5, 2022 (79 points vs. Bay), the Pirates backed up a Friday overtime triumph against Buckeye. The Maroon & White hadn't won back to back games since starting the season 6-0.

Rocky River (11-9) got a career-high 18 points from junior forward Ryan Ricketti. Will DeClerck added 13 points and nine rebounds. Gavin O'Brien logged 10 points and four assists. Hakeem Zayed chipped in with eight points and 10 boards.

Rocky River shot 49.2% (30-of-61) from the floor, while holding JFK to a 29.8% mark (14-of-47). River's accuracy figure marked its third-highest of the season.

Ricketti filed his 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-2 from 3-point distance.

With DeClerck, senior Kevin Dumfeh, and Zayed leading the way, the River five clocked 17 offensive rebounds in the non-conference game.

The Pirates will return to Great Lakes Conference Tournament consolation play Tuesday when they visit Lakewood. The Sons of Blackbeard will be looking for their first road win against the neighbor Rangers in nearly 10 years. Since winning at LHS Feb. 20, 2013, Rocky River has gone winless in three attempts.
