Pirate Talk with Message from Dr. Shoaf
RRCSD

May 25, 2022

Dear RRCSD Parents and Guardians:

Our heartfelt sympathies are with the families, staff, and community of Uvalde, Texas as they face the senseless tragedy that occurred yesterday.

At the Rocky River City School District, the safety and well-being of students and staff is our top priority. The district has a safety plan that is updated, reviewed and ready for use if needed. We are grateful to have three School Resource Officers (SRO) in the district and for our close relationship with all of our first responders. School counselors are also available to assist and provide support for students and staff who may have concerns.

If you or your child have any concerns or become aware of a potential threat to school safety, please contact your building principal to make them aware. You can also contact the Rocky River Police Department (RRPD) at 440-331-1234, or make an anonymous report on the Safe School Helpline 24-hours per day by calling 1-800-418-6423 or texting 614-426-0240 and then type TIPS.

Together, we can work to ensure that the Rocky River City School District will maintain a safe and secure learning environment, allowing us to focus on our students’ academic success.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Michael Shoaf
Superintendent
