Four RRMS Students Selected to Cleveland Junior Honors Band
October 5, 2021

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Four Rocky River Middle School (RRMS) students have been selected to the Cleveland Junior Honors Band (CJHB), an ensemble for outstanding young musicians in grades six through nine. The CJHB is in its inaugural year.

Students from RRMS who were selected to the band are Elliot Brown, Cora Bruce, Asia Morron and Andrew Saab. Brown and Saab were both selected as trumpet players. Bruce plays the flute, while Morron plays the trombone.

Interested students attended an Open House/Audition at Tri-C’s Parma Campus on September 18. At the audition, each student played in front of judges who chose ensemble members based on their musical ability, willingness to learn and show a positive work ethic. The ensemble offers advanced opportunities for students to take part in both large group rehearsals and performances, as well as small chamber groups to develop individual skills. Students will also work with professional musicians in master classes.
