Third and fourth graders at Kensington Intermediate School once again received a special gift from the Rotary Club of Lakewood and Rocky River. Continuing with its annual tradition of honoring its commitment to literacy in schools, the Rotary Club presented each third grader with a dictionary, while all fourth graders received a copy of the chapter book The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies.
Members of the Rotary Club stamped each dictionary with the Rotary logo and a place for the students named. The chapter books were also stamped by members of the Rotary Club.
In lieu of an assembly, Rotary Club members Dr. Jon Fancher and John Zuercher recorded presentation videos that were shown to each third and fourth grade class before the dictionaries and books were distributed.
The Rotary Club began this project in 2005.
