ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Rocky River earned a 2-1 home victory over Valley Forge on Saturday evening. Andrew Fry and Connor McKenna scored the Pirate goals, as River snapped back from a midweek loss to Buckeye.
Fry netted a penalty kick in the opening half. McKenna scored in the second half – with an assist from Gold Rrustmaj -- to lift the Pirates to a 2-0 lead. The visiting Patriots scored their goal late in the contest.
With Saturday’s victory, the Pirates (4-1, 2-1 GLC) move to one game over .500 in Great Lakes Conference play. Rocky River is slated to continue circuit play on Wednesday with a home match against the Bay Rockets.
