ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Playing in its fourth five-set match of the season, Rocky River defeated Fairview, 3-2, in Great Lakes Conference action on Tuesday night.
The Pirates – now 3-1 in contests that have gone five frames – battled back from a 3-1 deficit against the Warriors (4-7, 2-5 GLC). River prevailed by scores of 21-25, 25-12, 23-25, 26-24, and 15-8.
Senior Abby Kuyper paced the Fairview frontcourt with 22 kills and a .386 attack percentage. Kuyper also tallied 20 digs on the evening. Her younger sister – freshman Emily Kuyper – notched 39 assists.
