RRHS World Language Honors Society Inducts 41 New Members

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Rocky River High School World Language Honors Society inducted 41 new members at a ceremony on Wednesday night.

Following is a breakdown of the three chapters, the current members and newly inducted members.

El Cid Chapter Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, was formally organized in 1953 as the Spanish National Honor Society and the name was changed in 1959. The purpose is to recognize high student achievement in Spanish and Portuguese.

Societe Honoraire de Francais

The Societe Honoraire de Francias is an honor society for high school students enrolled in French and is sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). The purpose of the society is to recognize high achievement of high school students in the French language and to promote continuing interest in Francophone studies.

Delta Epsilon Phi National German Honor Society

Delta Epsilon Phi (DEP) was founded at Coral Gables High School (FL) in 1968 by Kathe Wilson, a devoted AATG member, who until her death remained active and supportive of this rapidly expanding organization. Major benefits provided to you and your students by Delta Epsilon Phi have in the past included an annual Kathe Wilson Full Scholarship for AATG’s German Summer Study Program, supported by Lufthansa German Airlines.
