MEDINA, Ohio – A doubles sweep lifted Rocky River to a 3-2 victory over Medina in what marked the Pirates’ first dual match of the season on Monday.
The Pirates (1-0) got a monster come-from-behind win by
senior Carmen Rhinehalt and junior Caitlin Kelly in first doubles. Rhinehalt
and Kelly won, 2-6, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (7). In second doubles, the River tandem of Maggie
Blossey and Maire Kate Hickey earned a 1-6, 6-3 6-4 victory.
Those team efforts backed up junior Becca Krebs who
dominated in second singles.
