ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – Rocky River
Middle School (RRMS) technology teacher Matt England has been named an Ohio
Lottery Partners in Education Teacher of the Month for March in Region 1
(Cleveland area).
England is in his 10th year
teaching at RRMS and was nominated by school principal Megan Rose.
“Matt is an effective leader who goes above and beyond both in and out of the classroom,” Rose said. “He has a tremendous impact on our students and prepares them for the next level through his instruction. This award and recognition are well-deserved.”
In addition to his teaching duties, England
is also the coordinator of the RRMS essentials team, which includes band,
choir, fitness, art and college and career readiness. He set up a Makers Space
at RRMS and moved an unused television screen into the main hallway where he
created a Google slide presentation. This has allowed RRMS staff to add
announcements and post important information to students.
For being recognized as a Teacher of the
Month, England will receive an assortment of Partners in Education merchandise
from the Ohio Lottery.
The Ohio Lottery
Teacher of the Month program is designed to recognize outstanding faculty for
contributions to their school, excellence in the classroom, leadership,
innovation, community, involvement, dedication and work on behalf of Ohio
students in grades K-12.
