ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – The Rocky River City School District (RRCSD) will launch a newly revamped district website on Tuesday morning, July 9, in an effort to enhance the design and navigation for the benefit of user experience.

“Revamping the website is something I wanted to do from the time I began my position in August,” RRCSD Communication Specialist Greg Murphy said. “I began talking with eSchoolView (the district’s web provider) about redesigning the website in October. We had several calls and emails back and forth to plan and talk about the design over the next six months, which led up to this point of the official launch.”

Murphy worked mainly with Andrew Erdman, the project manager for the website re-design from eSchoolView, to ensure the project aligned with the district’s needs and expectations.

In addition to enhancing the design and navigation for users, Murphy said the District wanted to make the website responsive on any device including desktop computers, smart phones, iPads and tablets.

Some of the highlights of the newly launched website include:

  • New Rocky River City School District brand and logos
  • A video player, making RRCSD one of a small number of district websites to incorporate this feature
  • An animated rotator at the top of the website, featuring photos and videos of recent student and staff accomplishments
  • A section for news stories to keep families and community members updated on news and events from the District
  • A social media hub for the district’s Twitter and Instagram channels

Furthermore, the new website features a drop-down menu at the top of the website, which allows visitors to quickly jump to individual school building pages for streamlined navigation.

“We wanted to make it easier for students, staff, parents and community members to see and showcase everything the Rocky River City School District has to offer,” said Murphy. “The new website should be a place where users can find information quickly and people can celebrate the success of students and staff.”
