Kensington Hosts Assembly to Conclude Summer Reading Program
ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Students at Kensington Intermediate School (KIS) attended an assembly on Friday (Sept. 7) to conclude the Summer Reading Program. The program was a partnership between KIS and the Rocky River Education Foundation (RREF).

KIS third grade teacher Mrs. Beth Paul led the program and hosted Friday's assembly, while RREF Board President Mr. Dan Bogre also addressed the students.

Over the summer, students at KIS were asked to fill out a Summer Reading Bingo sheet with the goal to challenge students to read new genres, read in new places and to read for longer periods of time. Students who created a Bingo on their summer reading board received a raffle ticket from Mrs. Paul. Students were able to earn up to 10 tickets if they completed the entire board.

On Wednesday and Thursday during lunch, students dropped off their raffle tickets next to the prizes they desired. On Friday, students gathered for the assembly where the winning tickets were picked.

Prizes included book sets (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Land of Stories), Cleveland Indians tickets, a Nintendo switch, a Star Wars lego set, NBA trading cards, a pogo stick, a beanbag chair, game baskets and gift cards.

The RREF provided the prizes for the Summer Reading Program through a grant.
