2018 Ohio Guide to School Report Cards

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - The Rocky River City School District earned an overall grade of an A on this year's Ohio School Report Card that was released on Thursday morning by the Ohio Department of Education.

Rocky River was one of just 28 districts in the state to earn an A on this year's Ohio School Report Card. This is the first time since 2013 that an overall grade for school districts has been provided.

On the performance index of the Ohio School Report Card, Rocky River ranks sixth in the state and second in Cuyahoga County. This marks the ninth straight year that Rocky River has ranked in the top-10 in the state.

This report card reflects the 2017-2018 school year and provides a snapshot into how school districts performed on a series of measures. Rocky River’s Performance Index score, which measures student success on state tests was 108.029.

“The State Report Card is one of several measures that we analyze to evaluate student performance in the Rocky River City School District,” Superintendent Dr. Michael Shoaf said. “Our student performances reflect the high expectations we continually strive for in the district. We could not achieve this ranking without the strong, daily collaboration between our students, parents and guardians, teachers, staff, and administration. We are thankful for the continued support we receive from the community and our parents and guardians, which leads to the high achievements and success of our students.”

There are six components on ODE’s School Report Card and Rocky River earned the following results:

Achievement: A
Progress: A
Gap Closing: A
Graduation Rate: A
K-3 Literacy: A
Prepared for Success: B
