ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Rocky River Middle School took part in Kick-It Week last week, a national volunteer-driven effort focused on raising money for childhood cancer.
Students and staff at RRMS raised $5,000 throughout the course of the week, which culminated with several large kickball games on Friday afternoon. The RRMS PTA also provided treats for students on during the kickball games.
Kick-It is a program of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and was founded in 2009 by a 10-year old cancer patient from Northeast Ohio whose big dream is to cure childhood cancer through his favorite game, kickball.
Since its inception in 2005, ALSF has raised more than $150 million for pediatric cancer research.
