Rocky River Early Childhood Center
  • The RRECC hosted a pair of successful family fall feasts on November 20th at Elmwood Cabin.
  • Students at the RRECC are learning about countries and holidays as they explore their Holidays around the World Study during the month of December.
  • Beach School will host its Holiday Party on Dec. 18 with songs, Santa and other fun activities.

Goldwood Primary School

  • Congratulations to the 17 Grade 1 students and 18 Grade 2 students who competed in the Spelling Bee on Dec. 3 and to Ollie (Grade 1) and Reagan (Grade 2) who won their respective grade levels.
  • The Goldwood PTA will host Snowflake Palace from December 5-7. Each class will have the opportunity to shop for their families during the school day.
  • Photos with Santa will be on Dec. 5 from 4:30-6:00pm in the Goldwood Room. All photos are $10.00 - cash or check only.
  • Grade 2 students will host two Winter Concerts on Dec. 14. The first group will perform at 10:30am and the second group will begin at 2:00pm.
  • Kindergarten Information Night is scheduled for Jan. 31, 2019 at 5:30pm. Information about registration, and the kindergarten program will be shared.

Kensington Intermediate School

  • Kensington is hosting a Parent Coffee Talk with Tony DiBiasio on Dec. 11 at 9:00am. The talk will focus on organization and homework.
  • The Kensington Spelling Bees will take place on Dec. 13. Grade 5 will begin at 8:30am and Grade 3 will start its competition at 9:45am. Grade 4 will round out the day with its Spelling Bee at 1:30pm.
  • The Grade 5 Band and Choir Holiday Concert will take place on Dec. 13. The performance begins at 7:00pm at the Rocky River HS auditorium.

Rocky River Middle School

  • Terri Libenson, the cartoonist of the internationally syndicated daily comic strip, The Pajama Diaries, visited RRMS and spoke with students during Right to Read Week.
  • The RRMS Builders Club is hosting a Toy Drive from Dec. 3-7.
  • The 7th and 8th Grade Band and Jazz Band Concert was held on Dec. 4.
  • The Rocky River Middle School Chamber Choir will perform on Dec. 5 at the Photos with Santa event at Goldwood which runs from 4:30-6:00pm.
  • The RRMS Choir Concert will take place on Dec. 6 at 7:00pm at the RRHS auditorium.
  • RRMS Student Council will host a Winter Wonder Week from Dec. 10-14.

Rocky River High School

  • The RRHS Key Club traveled to downtown Cleveland to help set up a Dental Clinic for homeless and under-insured families.
  • The Model UN performed well in its fall conference with two RRHS students recognized as the “Excellent Delegation” and two others earning “Best Position Paper”.
  • The Holiday Choir Concert will be held on Dec. 10 and the Holiday Band Concert will take place on Dec. 11. Both performances will start at 7:00pm in the auditorium.
  • RRHS midterm exams will take place on Dec. 14, 17 and 18.

Rocky River City School District

  • The Rocky River City School District State of the Schools Luncheon and Presentation from Superintendent Dr. Michael Shoaf is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2019 at the Don Umerley Civic Center. Please visit RRCS.org to RSVP online no later than Jan. 4.
  • Schools will be on Winter Vacation from Dec. 19-Jan. 1 and all classes will resume on Jan. 2.
