RRHS Student Selected to All-National Honor Ensemble

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - Dasara Beta, a rising junior at Rocky River High School was recently selected to the National Association for Music Education's (NAfME) 2020 All-National Symphony Orchestra. Beta was selected as a 1st Trumpet and was one of just four trumpet players selected from auditions from music programs across the country.
 
"Despite an unusual spring, Dasara worked extremely hard and that hard wok paid off with this recognition," said RRHS band director Mike Komperda. "He is an extremely talented musician and we are all very pround of this incredible honor and achievement."
 
The All-National Honor Ensembles consists of a concert band, symphony orchestra, mixed choir, jazz ensemble, guitar ensemble, and modern band. This marks the second consecutive year that a RRHS student has auditioned into one of the All-National ensembles following Nadine El Dabh's performance with the All-National Choir last fall.
 
National Association for Music Education, among the world's largest arts education organizations, is the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. NAFME advocates at the local, state, and national levels, provides resources for teachers, parents, and administrators, hosts professional development events, and offers a variety of opportunities for students and teachers.
