ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - The Rocky River City School District is proud to announce a four-part Virtual Town Hall series this year with Dr. Lisa Damour. In her presentations, Dr. Damour will provide information and resources to help navigate your daily lives during this time of high stress, anxiety and disruption.
The dates and topics for the Virtual Town Halls are:
September 24, 2020 - Managing Stress and Anxiety Under COVID-19
November 4, 2020 - Helping Children and Adolescents Thrive in the Context of Chronic Stress
February 4, 2021 - The Roots of Resilience: Cultivating Strength in Disruption
March 25, 2021 - Under Pressure: Stress and Anxiety in Girls
These four presentations by Dr. Damour will be free and open to the public, however advance registration is required for each Virtual Town Hall. More information and registration links will be shared on the district website and district social media platforms.
Recognized as a thought-leader by the America Psychological Association, Dr. Damour has written numerous academic papers, chapters and books related to education and child development. She is the author of two New York Times best-selling books, a regular contributor to CBS News and contributes a monthly column to the New York Times. Dr. Damour blends her years of experience with the latest research developments to provide sound, practical guidance to children and adolescents, as well as their parents, teachers and advocates.
