Misfire: Pirates off the mark in loss at Parma
Mike Murray
PARMA, Ohio -- Rocky River dropped its third straight conference road game, suffering an ice-cold shooting night in a 45-34 loss to the Parma Redmen.

Rocky River (7-6, 5-4 Great Lakes Conference) and Parma were tied, 21-21, at halftime, but the home five held River to just three points in the third quarter and 10 in the fourth. The Pirates were held to just two 2-point field goals in the game; the Maroon & White made a total of nine baskets on the evening.

Junior forward Charlie Hudson scored 10 points to lead Rocky River in what marked the program's lowest single-game scoring output since Dec. 16, 2016 (33 points vs. Holy Name).

With Friday's tilt in the books, the Pirates now draw six days of rest and practice. Rocky River's next game is scheduled for Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m., when the Maroon & White visit Valley Forge.
