ROCKY RIVER, Ohio - The Rocky River High School Division C Science Olympiad Team competed at the Kenston and Solon Invitationals that were conducted virtually over the weekend.
At the Kenston Invitational, several individuals claimed awards in Division C as the team placed 10th overall. Awards included:
- Grace Wang/Katrina Raynes - 3rd place in Chem Lab
- Daniel Achour/Laith Wattar - 3rd place in Digital Structures
- Marin Way/Grace Wang - 4th place in Anatomy and Physiology
- Morgan Way/Leanne Wattar - 4th place in Write-it-CAD-it
- Leanne Wattar/Marin Way/Evan Lei - 5th place in Codebusters
- Daniel Achour/Laith Wattar - 5th place in Gravity Vehicle
Other notable scores included:
- Grace Wang/Gabe Harmath - 8th place in Fossils
- Katrina Raynes/Evan Lei - 8th place in Geologic Mapping
- Cora Mathewson/Morgan Way - 9th place in Orinthology
Notable Division B scores included:
- Maceo Tabora/Morgan Way - 7th place in Machines
Highlights from the Solon Invitational included:
- Laith Wattar/Daniel Achour - 4th place in Wright Stuff
- Morgan Way/Daniel Achour - 6th place in Ping Pong Parachute
- Katrina Raynes - 6th place in Geologic Mapping
The team will compete in two more invitationals this season, Case Western and Mentor, prior to the regional and state competition.
