River holds off Redmen to earn GLC win
PARMA, Ohio -- Rocky River defeated Parma, 8-5, on Tuesday.

The Pirates scored in every inning of the seven-frame Great Lakes Conference affair in Parma. River took a 3-0 lead through three innings, scoring on a walk in the first, a wild pitch in the second, and a Redmen error in the third.

Ethan White started for Rocky River and kept Parma off the scoreboard until the bottom of the third. His efforts were buoyed by mid-inning and late-game RBIs by Dillon Bandi, Anthony Ferchill, and Jacob Florentine. For the game, White went 5-1/3 innings, striking out six.

Gavin O'Brien extricated the Pirates from a bases-loaded jam in the sixth and then worked into and out of trouble in the seventh to earn a save.

Rocky River is scheduled to host Parma to cap off a home-and-home on Thursday.
