Goldwood Primary School will celebrate Right to Read Week from March 1-5 with the theme "We have Goldwood Grit". There are several events happening throughout the week to help students celebrate their love of reading, including:

  • Virtual Author Visit: We will welcome Ohio author, Leann Corabi who will be virtually reading her children’s book, What is Grit? and talking about her life as an author. Teachers and students will be viewing her visit during the week.
  • Book Orders: To order your signed copy of What is Grit? through the GPS PTA by March 5, 2021, please click on the following link: https://rockyriver.wufoo.com/forms/right-to-read-week-book-order-form-2021/
  • Theme Days:
    • Monday: Rocky River kids LOVE to read - Wear River colors
    • Tuesday: Team up with a good book - Wear your favorite team shirt/sweatshirt!
    • Wednesday: Bring a book you love to school - The entire school will be dropping everything and reading today!
    • Thursday: Wear your inspirational words - Wear as many clothing items that have words on them as possible – no hats)
    • Friday: Book Character Day - Dress up as your favorite book character!
  • myON Contest from March 1-7: myON is an online library program your child uses at school. We are having a contest between the classes in each grade level to see which class can read for the most minutes during that week. This contest includes the weekend, too, so give myON a try at home.  Students access myOn through their school Clever account.
Happy Reading!
