BAY VILLAGE, Ohio (Oct. 8, 2024) -- The Pirates got off to a slow start and could not recover in falling to Bay 3-1 in Tuesday-night Cleveland West Conference action.
Rocky River (11-6, 10-3 CWC) tallied just 13 points in the opening set. The Maroon & White would bounce back with a 25-19 triumph in game 2. The Rockets (18-2, 13-0) handily won set 3 (25-16) and then clinched the match with a 25-21 win in game 4.

With the victory, Bay earned a two-match sweep of the Pirates (Rockets downed RRHS 3-1 in Rocky River on Sept. 12), and the Rockets clinched an outright league title. Bay has defeated River in five straight matches dating back to 2022.
Rocky River will close out its CWC season with a Saturday home match against North Olmsted.
