River continues first week as part of fab field in Brunswick tourney

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio (Aug. 6, 2024) -- Rocky River continued its first week of action by placing 16th in Tuesday's Brunswick Tee-Off Classic at Brookledge Golf Course in Cuyahoga Falls. 

Senior Mia Ginnetti led Pirate scorers with a 39-40--79 on the par-71, 4,786-yard Arthur Hills layout. For a second straight day, junior Addison Crane was River's No. 2 scorer. Crane carded a 49-45--94.

Rocky River tallied a four-man team score of 378. The placed the Pirates 16th in a turbo-charged field of 20 teams. The tournament champion Dublin Jerome (294) was one of six state-qualifier teams in the field at Brookledge.

"This field was loaded, and the event was a great experience for our girls," said coach Jeff Hammond, whose Pirates are scheduled to play at Wednesday's Edison Invitational at Thunderbird Hills Golf Course in Huron. "These early-season events really provide a foundation for how we build through the rest of the fall."
