MEDINA, Ohio (Aug. 29, 2024) -- The Pirates earned their first road win of the 2024 season, taking 3-of-4 sets in a hard-fought Cleveland West Conference battle at Buckeye Thursday.
The host Bucks (2-2, 1-1 CWC) leveled the match with a second-game conquest (25-9) after Rocky River (2-0, 2-0) had taken the first 25-19. The Maroon & White rode a monster 9-0 start to an eventual 25-17 triumph in the third set. In the fourth, the Pirates gutted out a come-from-behind 25-22 win.

The victory marked River's fifth in a row against Buckeye.
The Pirates are slated to return to action after the Labor Day weekend. They'll host CWC foe Normandy on Sept. 3.
