BAY VILLAGE, Ohio (April 17, 2025) -- Rocky River blitzed the Bay Rockets in a Thursday War by the Shore tussle in Bay Village. The Pirates got a five-inning no-hitter from Reagan Kane, who pounded the strike zone with 46 strikes on 64 pitches (72%), and River banged out six extra-base hits in a 17-0 rout.
The Pirates (6-3, 2-2 Cleveland West Conference) batted around three times. They scored four runs in the second, four more in the third, and then eight in the fifth. Sophomore Elizabeth Smalley doubled and tripled and scored three runs in four at-bats. Junior Elleana Biscardi had a three-hit, three-RBI game. Carly Ewing and Maggie Heigle also knocked in three.
Kane helped her own cause by going 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. She struck out 12 Rockets and has now registered 69 whiffs in 39-1.3 innings. The right-hander has held foes to three runs or less in four of her last five starts.
Rocky River had 15 hits in the game. Over Wednesday (14-4 win over Valley Forge) and Thursday, the Maroon & White garnered 27 hits in 11 innings.
